A little background on Erica...
Erica started riding at the tender age of 4. While many hobbies would come and go (ballet, basketball, softball, singing) in Erica's life, the horses were always a constant.
Erica started showing horses at the age of 8; and under the guidance of Christine VanGee, and acquired her very first horse - Just Dry Enough. They competed all over upstate New York on the Wayne-Monroe Horseman's Council circuit, accumulating numerous awards.
In 2006, while attending Midway University in Midway, Kentucky, Erica began working for AQHA Professional Horseman Bennie Sargent. Over the next few years, she traveled extensively with Sargent Quarter Horses, assisting at horse shows and grooming.
In 2009, Erica moved to north east Texas and began riding reining horses under the guidance of an NRHA professional. Over the next 3 years, Erica found her true passion, reining horses. She was able to ride and learn from some of the top trainers in the country while honing in on her skills, ranging from working with two-year-olds all the way to putting finishing touches on older horses. Many of the horses she started as two-year-olds went on to be top money earners in the NRHA.
Fast forward to 2015, Erica began working with all-around horses. In 2018, Erica earned her first world champion titles as a trainer, and has since become a force to be reckoned with in the yearling Longe Line and In-Hand Trail events as well.
in 2022, her client purchased the iconic Almosta Ranch from AQHA Hall of Famer, Al Dunning. She is now the ranch manager and runs her training business alongside Mr. Dunning. Erica has also served on the AzPHC's Board of Directors, and is an APHA and Pinto Association Professional Horsewoman.
